Collateral Damage: The Anime Board Game

Gaming event run by Bill Todd (ranma1530 at earthlink dot net)

Time

Saturday, January 26 beginning at 4:00 PM and running until 6:00 PM

Location

Sever 104 (Guide to Locations)

Short Description

Finally published! While there are several anime-themed card games on the market, Collateral Damage is the only known anime based board game in existence. In it you control typical characters from romantic comedy anime in order to take over the world. Collateral Damage is a fun board game for 2 to 6 players ages 12 and up.

Details

Playtested at past Vericons, the game is finally published by HRSFAlum Matthew Duhan '95!

In some anime, especially romantic comedy anime, the characters have amazing martial arts abilities. They can scale walls, leap miles into the air, and destroy buildings with a single punch. Yet they can never seem to manage to kiss the object of their affection, or even to tell that person that they like him or her. It seems reasonable, then, that all their amazing martial arts abilities and Chi energy comes from their repressed libido.

This is the basis for Collateral Damage: The Anime Board Game.

In Collateral Damage, you take the role of a gang boss trying to take over Neo Japan. You command a group of typical characters from romantic comedy anime. You can direct them to battle it out in a city, but watch out! Characters can fall in love, and may then ignore your orders and instead follow their love across the board, battling it out for their love’s affection.

The first player to control a majority of Neo Japan, despite the complexities of love, wins the game.

Who says love conquers all?
